Our Website has been designed for users in the United States, and in accordance with United States standards; you are free to utilize our Website outside of the United States with this understanding. A minor (under the age of 18), may only use the Services and disclose Personal Information with a parent or guardian's express consent, or if a teacher or educator has been given written authority by the parent or guardian to disclose Personal Information on behalf of a minor child.

If you are a child under 13, please do not send any Children's Personal Information about yourself to us, other than what we request from you when you sign up for the Services. In the event that we learn that we have collected Children's Personal Information from a child under 13 without parental consent being obtained by his or her school, district, and/or teacher, or if we learn a child under 13 has provided us Children's Personal Information beyond what we request when he or she signs up for the Website, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that a child under 13 may have provided us Children's Personal Information beyond what is requested when signing up for the Website, or that a child's school, district, or teacher has not obtained parental consent prior to our collection of any personal information from a child under 13, please contact us at info@rocketlit.com.

Data We Collect/Share

We receive and store any information you knowingly provide to us.

We will only give your data to partners who you tell us to share your data with.

We do not share Personal Information or Children's Personal Information in personally identifiable form to anyone outside our company.

The information we collect is retained for educational purposes and to improve our services.

We may employ other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf and need to share your information with them to provide products or services to you. Unless explicitly stated, our agents do not have any right to use the Personal Information or Children's Personal Information we share with them beyond what is necessary to assist us.

All of our employees are trained on the sensitivity of student data and are required to sign a contract which requires them to respect, as well as refrain from saving or transmitting personal information to anyone outside of the parties who own that data.

Certain user profile information, including and not limited to, a user's name, reading level, quiz scores, and school affiliation is stored in each user profile. If you are a student, the only users who can view your user profile are yourself, your teachers, and district administrators.

We will not collect any data for the purpose of third party advertising

Removal of data

The data we collect is the property of the teacher, school, or district who enters into this agreement with us. Student and teacher data will be held unless it is requested that such data be purged from our database via signed contract or written request. You can request that data be removed by contacting us at support@rocketlit.com We hold data for the sole purpose of ensuring there is no historical, adaptive data loss in the case of a lapse in subscription for the teacher, school, or district.

Sharing of Data

No data will be transferred outside our own system without the permission of users.

Business transfers may occur. We may choose to buy or sell assets. In these types of transactions, customer information is typically one of the business assets that would be transferred. Also, if we (or our assets) are acquired, or if we go out of business, enter bankruptcy, or go through some other change of control, Personal Information and Children's Personal Information would be one of the assets transferred to or acquired by a third party, but only with permission given by the district, school, or classroom leader.

We reserve the right to access, read, preserve, and disclose any information that we reasonably believe is necessary to comply with law or court order; enforce or apply our conditions of use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Company, our employees, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

For improvement of our adaptive learning algorithms and other features, we will collect information that is not attached to Personally Identifiable Information, including but not limited to: quiz score averages, reading level gains, and survey questions.

Except as set forth above, you will be notified when your Personal Information or Children's Personal Information may be shared with third parties in personally identifiable form, and will be able to prevent the sharing of this information.

Passwords

We encrypt all passwords and data in transit via SSL. You must prevent unauthorized access to your account, Personal Information, and Children's Personal Information by selecting and protecting your password appropriately as well as limiting access to your computer or device and browser by logging out off after you have finished accessing your account.

Security of data

We endeavor to protect the privacy of your account, other Personal Information, and Children's Personal Information we hold in our records, and will make every reasonable effort to maintain this security.

In the case that security of our data is compromised, we will notify all affected teachers, schools, and districts with a letter that can be distributed to parents. The Services may contain links to other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices of other sites. When following a link to another site you should read that site's privacy policy.

Data Breaches

In the event of a data breach, we will immediately email all affected teachers and administrators to notify you of the extent and details of the breach.

Connecticut Student Data Privacy Pledge

As an authorized representative of my company or organization, which has developed one or more Web sites, online services, or mobile applications for school purposes, I hereby attest that we commit to this Connecticut Student Data Privacy Pledge.

In doing so, I acknowledge that we have fully reviewed and comply with all applicable aspects of the state’s student data privacy law, as defined in Connecticut General Statutes §§ 10-234aa through 10-234dd. We address and comply with the law’s requirements through one or more standard contract vehicles (e.g., terms of service, data-processing agreement, etc.) that we enter into with each of our Connecticut public school customers

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Use of information we collect now is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is used. If we make changes in the way we use Personal Information or Children's Personal Information, we will notify you by posting an announcement on our Website or sending you a message. You are bound by any changes to the Privacy Policy when you use the Services after such changes have first been posted.
